John Weston Mosby - Former Military Service Member

John Weston "Wes" Mosby of Carlsbad, California, served in the United States Air Force for 28 years. John Weston Mosby enlisted in the Air Force in 1974, initially working as a Fighter Jet Electrician. He cross-trained as a medic, and later served as an Aeromedical Evacuation Flight Instructor and Examiner. In 1997, he was promoted to Chief of Aeromedical Flight Training Standards and Evaluations, a position he held until his retirement in 2002.

Wes Mosby received the Meritorious Service Medal. Other accomplishments included receiving the Combat Readiness Medal, the Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Since retiring, he has also been a member of the Retired Officer’s Association.

After retiring, Mr. Mosby became a self-employed professional, working until 2024. His personal hobbies include motorcycling, participating in outdoor activities, traveling, and working out at the gym. He also enjoys learning about military history, Air Force flight tactics employed during war, and the history of the US and its aircraft.

Mr. Mosby attended the University of Redlands, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He also attended an Air Command and Staff course at the USAF Air University.
